Odessa R-VII School District stands together with our Athletes to build a better tomorrow.. Together, we can wrap around our students and athletes to create  space for each of us to grow and build a Unified Community.

 

 

MO Special Olympics Mission is…

...to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy, and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes, and the community.

SPECIAL OLYMPICS ATHLETES’ OATH


      Odessa R-VII has had the privilege of creating opportunities in both Unified Track and Unified Leadership for our Athletes and Unified Partners over the last
      several years. During the 2022-2023 school year, we were able to expand to include: Unified Basketball, Unified eSports, Job Olympics, and more. With the
      addition of all these opportunities, we have been able to bring other Lafayette & Johnson County Schools on the journey with us. They are invited to all the
      events we host and are able to enjoy more inclusive experiences with their peers. 

      In the 2023-2024 school year, we will continue to Dream Big to include a Unified Prom and more vocational opportunities for our students with special needs. 

      With your help and support, we can bring those dreams to life. 
      We are Better Together.
