Closure Extended until Friday, April 24, 2020.
Odessa R-VII Families:
At this time it is necessary to extend the closure of the district until Friday, April 24, 2020. It is our hope that we will be able to continue beyond that. Additionally, Central Office will be closed to visitors, until further notice. We will be operational and available electronically or via phone.
The school will continue to provide meals for students, as long as the state will allow. Currently meals can be picked up from the following locations:
- Odessa High School (Back Drive) 10:30 am-11:30 am
- Lake Lafayette (Main Entrance) 10:00 am-10:15 am
- Mayview (City Park) 10:40 am-10:55 am
- Bates City (Ballerina Park) 11:15 am-11:30 am
- Bates City (I-70 Park) 11:35 am-11:50 am
Meals are available for all children ages 1-18.
The district is also working to launch instructional maintenance for all students K-12. This information is being gathered this week and will be given to students/families no later than Monday, March 30, 2020. Our goal is to provide instruction virtually. If you do not have a desktop, laptop or tablet at home, please contact your child's principal and arrangements will be made to borrow one from the school. Teachers will be in contact with parents and students to begin the instruction.
The district will also be allowing individuals to pick up medicine and essential items from the buildings. No one will be allowed to enter the buildings, you will pull up and communicate to building staff what is needed and they will bring it to your vehicle. This pick up time will be Thursday, March 26 from 9:00 am-12:00 pm and Thursday, April 2 from 12:00 pm-3:00 pm.
Any district information as it relates to the closure of school and instructional information will be made available on the district website under the "COVID-19 School Closure Information" quicklink.
Thank you for your understanding and support in this unprecedented time. If you have questions, feel free to contact the building administrator or my office.
