OHS Cheer Wins Multiple Awards
The Bulldog Varsity and JV cheerleaders attended Universal Cheerleaders Association (UCA) cheer camp on June 16-19 at Tan-Tar-A resort at the Lake of the Ozarks.
The Odessa Cheerleaders attended UCA Summer Camp and both squads had a great week!
JV brought home several superior ribbons as well as Most Improved at camp!
Varsity brought home several superior ribbons as well as 1st Place in Timeout Sideline! Erika Cowan, Brea Ray, Layne Schloman, and Madi Wulfekotter won the STUNT competition as well!
The Odessa Cheer Program was awarded the coveted UCA Banana the third day of camp! This award is given to the most spirited team/program each day at camp. The Odessa Cheer Program also brought home the Traditions Award! This award is given to the team/program that exhibits the best traditions!
UCA has a program called Pin It Forward. During the Pin It Forward ceremony, each staff member awards a pin pack to one cheerleader they feel shows leadership, spirit, commitment, kindness, and motivation. Brea Ray received the Pin It Forward Award by UCA Staff this year!
We also had 7 girls make UCA All-American! Congratulations to Mercedes Behrman, Erika Cowan, Sarah Pierce, Brea Ray, Abra Raybourn, Bianca Woodward, and Madi Wulfekotter! They have all been invited to perform in the New Year's Day Parade in London!
Cheer Coach, Aimee Feagan, commented; We had such a great camp this year and had several personal, team, and program accomplishments! I'm so proud of all of our girls and coaches! It was a great way to start our season!
