Missouri State Football Champions!
The Missouri Class 3 state championship football trophy has returned to Odessa High School after the Bulldogs topped Cassville 49-28 Saturday at Faurot Field in Columbia, MO.
“We were not surprised we were here,” said Odessa coach Mark Thomas. “There are a lot of things that have to fall in place along the way. You have to have a little luck. These young men have never blinked, never flinched, and we took on everything everyone brought.”
"What an amazing journey that we have all been fortunate to be a part of over the last five months," said High School Principal Brad Briscoe. "The coaches and student-athletes have been a shining example of selflessness, hard work, discipline, and sportsmanship as they gained the ultimate prize by hoisting the trophy. I know the sense of pride I felt for our students, school, and community is immeasurable. Let’s celebrate with our students and carry this momentum forward as the collateral effect on school pride and culture is huge. This can be a shining example to all of us of what can be achieved through the aforementioned traits. Thank you Bulldogs Football for sharing this experience with all of us." #RowTheBoat #OurStoryOurJourney
